Teen Health Arkansas

Teen Talk AR

Every parent wants the best for their child, but not every parent knows how to connect with their teen about their health.

Through our Teen Talk Series, we support youth and families in building positive connections by understanding the health needs of teens and how to have open, supportive conversations about sensitive health topics. Bringing together adults in one room and teens in another, trained facilitators guide participants through conversations covering healthy relationships, family values, open and honest communication, accessing healthcare, and protecting your physical health.

Set up teens, parents, and caregivers in your community to make healthy happen!

Every parent wants the best for their child, yet our state ranks 47th in youth health outcomes. Teens, parents, and caregivers are committed to making Arkansas a healthier, safer environment for young people. How can we realize that commitment and develop meaningful, local, evidence-based approaches to change?

It starts with learning to talk to each other.

Through our Teen Talk Series, we’re supporting youth and families to build positive connections by better understanding the health needs of teens and how to have open, supportive conversations about sensitive health topics.

Bringing together adults in one room and teens in another, trained facilitators guide participants through conversations covering:

  • Healthy relationships
  • Family values
  • Open and honest communication
  • Accessing healthcare
  • Protecting your physical health, including reducing teen pregnancy, HIV, and STIs

What happens when we talk?

  • Neighbors have the space to focus on their community’s priorities and collaborative solutions.
  • Families get the resources they need to discuss adolescent health.
  • Participants tap into knowledge and tools to make health conversations engaging and informative.

Bring Teen Talks to your Town

Teen Health Arkansas is looking for partners and champions to bring Teen Talk into their communities. We support local planning and recruitment and provide a stipend to host the events. While our team leads the conversation, we also train local teen and adult leaders to help facilitate. If you’re part of a community organization that serves youth and/or young adults and families, let’s talk about partnering to improve teen health in your part of the state! Click here to inquire about more information.
