Teen Health Arkansas

reFrame

What could Arkansas look like if youth and adults tackled problems side by side?

Conversations about the challenges facing young people are strongest when young people help lead them. reFrame creates that space by bringing teens and adults to the same table over a movie to dig into the topics that matter.

reFrame: A New Kind of Conversation

reFrame is a community conversation series where teens and adults approach shared challenges as equal partners. These intergenerational spaces create room for new listening, connecting, and collaborating, laying the groundwork for a healthier, more hopeful future across Arkansas.

Our first reFrame conversation centers on baby/girls, a documentary film following three young Arkansans navigating parenthood at a young age. Their stories reveal the weight of adult responsibility carried too soon, along with the systemic realities in our state that shape those experiences. It’s a powerful starting point for honest, cross-generational dialogue.

What a reFrame Event Looks Like

Every 90-minute reFrame event includes:

  • A welcome and program overview
  • A 45-minute cut of the documentary film baby/girls
  • 45 minutes of facilitated conversation and Q&A on topics like youth voice and leadership, opportunity and hope, fatherhood and mentorship, and relationships and communication
  • Curated resources to support ongoing conversation and collaboration in your community

Themes gathered across reFrame conversations will be compiled into a report presented to the Arkansas State Legislature during the 2027 session, giving your community’s voice a direct line to policy.

Become a reFrame Partner Organization

Bringing reFrame to your community starts with a partnership. Partner organizations help make each conversation possible by:

  • Recruiting youth and caregivers to participate
  • Hosting focus groups and community conversations
  • Supporting event logistics
  • Collecting and sharing information on local health and development resources
  • Identifying staff, mentors, volunteers, or community members interested in becoming trained co-facilitators
